Join me in my efforts to support Maine Cancer Foundation!

As many of you know, I have been a supporter of breast cancer awareness and fund-raising efforts for several years now. This year, I am shaking it up a little bit and getting involved in the Maine Cancer Foundation Tri for a Cure fundraiser as an athlete. The Maine Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit organization that helps to fund research, education and patient support right here in Maine.

The triathlon is an all-womens event that includes a 1/3 mile swim, a 15 mile bike and a 5k run being held on August 9 in South Portland. I'm doing this for many reasons: to raise funds for a wonderful organization that helps people touched by cancer, to be a role model for my daughters, to have fun, to stay fit and because I can!

I would love to have your support in this challenge. I wish that cancer could wait for better economic times, but the reality is that it won't and all of our lives have been touched by cancer in some way, whether it's a father, a sister, a wife or a friend. Join me in the fight against this horrible disease. I appreciate any donation, however large or small you are able to give to support this wonderful cause! Thank you for helping me to make a difference!
